Today was Chandler's first "real" soccer game.
He has played recreational leagues for a few years but they don't follow all the rules. He played "academy" last year and they played lots of scrimmage games.
Now, however, he is playing in a competition league and they are playing in their first tournament.
It's not so much the soccer games that made me post. In fact, I'm probably stretching it to call it his first "real" game. It is just that, as my youngest, Chandler's firsts are also lasts. There are no more kids to have their first soccer game.
There are no more kids to have their first day of kindergarten or their first cub scout pack meeting. None of my children will ever have their first bike ride again. Or their first day in Primary or their first late-night.
It is a little sad sometimes.

great picture! I find with the last two I'm not as good at taking pictures or recording things. Why do they have to grow up?

Time passes to fast, people say to me all the time that they can't believe Colton is my baby because he is SO big. I would have to echo their statement, when did Chandler grow up. He rode past my house yesterday on his bike and it hit me that kid is big enough for scouts. It seems like just yesterday when he wasn't even in kindergarten yet!
ReplyDeleteThere is still one more first for bike riding in the family. That is if we really want to teach Alec to ride a bike. Let me think......He could definitely get away from us quicker if we did. Lets not... your right we probably are done with first in the bike riding category.
