Cinco de Mayo

I am really missing my family today. Plus, I am missing the activities I'd be doing with them if I were home.

I'm missing Alec's final track meet (actually, and unfortunately because this is even worse, Alec has to miss it to since I'm not there to help shuffle people around). I'm missing McKayla's next-to-last soccer game of the season (tomorrow is the final game and I'll miss that too). I'm missing Shanley's softball game. I'm missing our family's Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Yes, I realize about that last one that we're not Hispanic. I also realize that Cinco de Mayo is kind of a made up American holiday. But what the heck? I've been known to celebrate for lesser reasons. I just like to party.

Cinco de Mayo at my home has been known to involve people over for dinner, Mexican food, Mexican music, and a pinata! Alas, today I'll have to content myself with whipping up some tacos for my nieces and nephews.

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!
