Shanley is scheduled for surgery this Friday to repair a torn miniscus. It has been giving her some pain for a year or so.
I just got off the phone with the hospital. The hospital charges will amount to over $21,000. THAT IS NOT A TYPO!
That is also just the hospital portion. It doesn't count the surgeon or anesthesiologist. Our portion of that bill will be more than $4000 (the insurance will then kindly kick in).
Mind you, this is all for an outpatient surgery that should take less than an hour!
