Med Cruise part 3 - ROMA

Wednesday found us in Rome. That was McKayla's favorite! Our port city was Civitavecchia so she and I took a train into Rome and then the metro to the Colosseum. After that we walked and walked and walked.

The Colosseum was incredible! It was so much larger than I expected and I knew it was huge!

After the Colosseum we walked through this arch and into The Forum. Incredible to think about how very old those ruins are.

After the Forum, we stopped by the Museum of Culture. This building was so pretty!

Then a cathedral.

The Piazza Novona was also beautiful. We enjoyed a gelato here!

Next to the Trevi Fountain - so inspiring and amazing! It was one of the most crowded sites we went to. It was worth fighting the crowd to see it though! We both tossed a coin over our shoulder because legend says if you do this, you are sure to return!

We made our way to the Spanish Steps.

Finally, we took the Metro and then walked to Vatican City. We were pretty exhausted by the time we got there. The Pope had spoken earlier in the day and it was so massively crowded. We didn't stay long.

We took the train back to Civitavecchia and noticed this statue.
The day exhausted us so much, McKayla and I were in bed by 8:30 pm. Whew!
